The STARS project launched a European public tender focused on the management of stress throughout the surgical process.
Stress caused by the surgical process represents a significant contributor to post-operative complications and readmissions in hospitals. An integrated intervention to manage extrinsic stress during the surgical journey would likely have a remarkable effect on patients, but also on healthcare systems. Fewer post-operative complications and fewer readmissions would result in a reduction in the average length of stay for patients.
Technology can help us to overcome the barriers caused by the fragmentation of healthcare departments and IT systems, providing a seamless experience that offers both patients and caregivers comfort throughout the entire process.
MYSPHERA has competed with 22 companies to provide a solution for stress management throughout the surgical process for five European hospitals, these are:
– Hospital Universitario de Maatricht
– Hospital Sant Joan de Déu
– Hospital Fundació Parc Taulí
– Hospital Reina Sofia
– Istituto Nazionale di Riposo e Cura per Anziani (INRCA)
Six companies have been shortlisted for the first phase of the project: designing the solution. MYSPHERA completed the first phase after developing a pioneering proposal that aimed to provide a comprehensive approach to manage surgical stress.
MYSPHERA is currently awaiting evaluation results to apply for the development of the proposed, cutting-edge solution.
