Madrid, 9 October 2018.- MYSPHERA, a company focused on transforming healthcare systems through visibility and optimization of healthcare processes with IoT solutions, has closed a round of financing of 2.5 million euros that will allow the company to consolidate its lead position in Spain and to launch its international expansion plans in Europe, North America, and Latin America.
The investment round was subscribed by the Spanish-Israeli fund Swanlaab Venture Factory, Banco Sabadell – through its Sabadell Venture Capital vehicle – and Aliad (the corporate venture capital arm of The Air Liquide Group). MYSPHERA’s advisors in this transaction have been the Ifedes Group and Andersen Tax & Legal, while the advisor for the investment funds has been Fourlaw, Tax & Legal.
MYSPHERA, which has been developing Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS) for over five years, is revolutionizing the market with a new concept for healthcare processes management called “Hospital Process Manager”, which directly addresses the new hospital paradigm of “Value-Based Healthcare”, focused on guiding hospital management to deliver impact healthcare outcomes and real value patient care.
MYSPHERA’s technological platform measures real health processes, providing data and applications to clinicians and hospital administrators to improve the efficiency of their activities, saving time, reducing costs, and optimizing the occupation of the operating rooms, reducing wait times. It also improves the clinical safety of patients and informs their relatives of their status in real-time through dashboards located in waiting rooms and via a free App.
“This investment gives us the opportunity to bring our advanced hospital management solution to new international markets, and thus improve hospital processes globally while positively impacting patient experience,” said MYSPHERA’s CEO, Salvador Vera
“MYSPHERA has a RTLS (Real Time Location System) product that is far superior to their competitors’ and is penetrating a market with great potential in a very strong way” said Verónica Trapa, Investment Director of Swanlaab Venture Factory. “In addition, the need to optimize and manage health processes, both in public and private sectors, is a priority and we must take advantage of the momentum to execute a scalable growth strategy in an impeccable manner,” concluded Trapa.
Furthermore, BS Capital director, Raúl Rodríguez, detailed that “the main objective of our venture capital division is to provide support in the first steps of entrepreneurial projects; We seek to walk side by side with technology-based companies, with high growth potential, and innovative business models. Our support for MYSPHERA fits perfectly into this strategy, which includes investments in 17 companies to date.”
MYSPHERA has deployed its platform successfully in more than 45 reference hospitals (Hospital de la Fe in Valencia, Vall d’Hebron Hospital in Barcelona, Hospital de la Virgen del Rocío in Seville or St Joseph Hospital in Paris, among others), and has received different national and international recognitions: Best IoT deployment in the world by the RFID Journal, Award as one of the eight innovative companies with the greatest potential in the EU by the Business Innovation Observatory, and HealthTech Venture Forum Award, among others.
MYSPHERA, which has been devoted to innovation since its inception, has a dedicated department that currently leads critical European projects such as ActiveAge Project, which uses IoT technology to improve the autonomy of people living alone, and the Operating Room 4.0 Project, that optimizes the surgical processes using IoT and data analysis tools.
