Motril Hospital informs the relatives of surgical patients of all the steps that are taken
Specifically, family members and relatives of 4,659 people who underwent surgery in 2020 and 2021 have been able to access real-time, up-to-date information on the patient’s condition throughout the entire process, from reception, through the operating theatre, the AMU, and resuscitation.
Our solution has not only proved to be useful for relatives, providing peace of mind and information at the most necessary times but also for the professionals themselves.
In addition to automating communication tasks between staff and relatives, it also improves coordination between professionals who know the patient’s condition in real-time through their information screens or tablets, as well as the status of the process. This allows them to anticipate the needs required by other departments or by the patient themselves.
Our solution has also allowed them to obtain accurate and reliable data on the activity and performance in operating theatres, such as the duration of operations or the operating theatre occupancy rate.
How does the solution work?
Each patient who comes to the Surgical Block receives an identification bracelet that locates the patient and records every movement through the different areas of the BQ. This information is received by medical professionals on their information screens and is also shown to relatives in the waiting room.
Relatives not only have the possibility of receiving this information in the hospital but thanks to the Virtual Waiting Room application they can also have all the information available on their own smartphone from anywhere.
